Since its inception in 1985, Poirier Fontaine Architectes is an architecture studio based in Montreal specialising in the design of sports installations, particularly public aquatic facilities. They believe in the benefits of sports activities and their ability to bring together members of the community. They aim to create sports installations that transcend the basic conformity to building codes and sports standards; aspiring rather to an architecture that elevates the place of sport by way of an ambitious and responsible architecture.
